Pac Van Alternatives for Comparable Factory Quotes

A pac van search is the starting point, not a scope of supply. ForgeSource Sourcing is an independent sourcing service that helps a business buyer write one brief and ask factories for quotations on alternative flat-pack container houses and modular buildings.

Six items that make quotations comparable

Occupied or unoccupied use

State whether the unit is a site office, dry storage, welfare room, or another occupancy. The use changes exits, insulation, and the documents a supplier should return.

Module dimensions

Record external length, width, and height, plus the clear interior the buyer actually needs. A 20 ft by 8 ft body with an 8 ft 6 in external height is one common transport example, not a size this desk imposes. A published picture is not a measured module.

Design loads

Ask for design live load, design dead load, wind speed, wind exposure category, ground snow load, and seismic design category when the project has them. If the file already states 50 psf for an office floor, 125 psf for storage, 115 mph wind, or 30 psf ground snow, copy that project figure.

Code jurisdiction

Name the project location and the authority having jurisdiction. IBC or IRC applicability is a project question, not a badge on this website.

Quantity basis

Count modules or building sets, and say whether the order can ship in parts. A one-unit pilot and a camp of repeated units are different briefs.

Destination and access

Give the destination ZIP or port and any limit on the transport envelope, crane, or road approach. Freight is a separate line from the building package.

Inquiry options in the same product family

These rows are conversation starters for alternative products. They are not inventory, and they are not a statement that any named brand can be supplied.

Flat-Pack Container Module

Use this row when the buyer can accept site assembly and needs the packing list, coating, and thermal transmittance called out before price.

Stackable site accommodation blocks at a remote project

Stackable Site Accommodation

Stacking adds a connection and foundation interface question. Ask who designs the tie-down and who supplies the stair and corridor.

Containerized utility room with exterior mechanical louver

Containerized Utility Room

Mechanical and electrical interfaces should be listed as included, excluded, or buyer-supplied so a shell price is not read as a running plant.

Open building options
Volumetric modular building arriving on a low loader

Volumetric Modular Building

More finish can travel with the module, but the route, escort, and crane lift plan have to be confirmed before the format is treated as viable.

Ask factories against one written scope

Send the use, quantity, destination, and what is inside the price. The desk compares shell, delivered, installed, and turnkey replies only after those lines are visible.
